Ivy Van Dusen

I am {usually} not a super wild, crazy person.
But last September, at the beginning of my college career, I told myself that I was going to spend the next couple of years doing all sorts of fun things, and really soaking life up (while still living the honor code and ctr-ing, of course). Me and my roommate made a freshman year bucket list, with all kinds of fun/traditional things that college students in Utah do, then we started doing them!
Anyways. One item on the list was to go to the Festival of Colors.
I have always heard of this little shenanigan that goes on every year in Spanish Fork, but I've never actually been to it until yesterday. Basically what happens is you just throw this colored chalk powder stuff on everyone, and everyone throws it on you! It was one of the messiest events I've ever been to, but it was also one of the funnest. Especially with these guys!

Let's forget that I just took the hardest test of my college career so far (thank you very much, American Heritage).
Let's forget that I don't know what to do with my life for spring term (do I stay and go to school? Go home and work? Stay here and work? Decisions, decisions...life is confusing lately.)
While we're at it, let's also forget that I have laundry, dishes, and loads of homework to get done today.
Let's just rewind and talk about the fabulous weekend that took place just a few short days ago. Because let me tell ya, it was a fun one.
I probably put a few of these on insta already, but oh well.
(@ivyylauren. go follow)

Friday/Saturday consisted of a fun cabin trip to Heber where there are fun rhinos to drive around, intense games of pool, and still lots of snow covering everything.

Dress I'm wearing here
shoes $15 at H&M similar here (I took the strap off)

On Sunday the weather was absolutely beautiful, which called for a Sunday stroll up to the temple, and a little post-stake conference photoshoot with these cute chicks.

 Life is good.

This weekend I went on a nice, 10-hour road trip down to southern California with Kody to meet his family and just hang out! Neither of us have classes on Fridays so we thought it would be fun, and it was.
The weekend was full of hot tubbing, playing with his cute niece and nephew, walking on the beach/piers, eating yummy food, jet skiing, playing card games and enjoying the beaautiful weather!

We even got to drive through good ol Arizona for about 10 minutes on the way there and back :)

I had such a fun time.
Now I'm back in Provo and its time to get back to midterms, homework and the rest of reality.

My blog skills have been slacking lately, I know.
But I am alive, I promise, and things are going great around here!
Taking 7 classes has definitely been keeping me busy, but good thing that they are classes that I love!
I am in two classes for my major, and I am loving the whole art of journalism more and more everyday. Also, this school. You guys. It is absolutely awesome. I am so happy that I chose to come here. Plus, it is finally starting to warm up a little bit, and it feels so nice!
Here's a little photo-overload of what's been up lately...

Cheering on BYU at the basketball games with Kody and our matching shirts.

Coming home to this ^ every night.
I love my roommates.
Last week it rained a ton. Those mountains :)

 Front-row at volleyball.

Super excited to go to general conference for the first time in April!

Celebrating national pancake day in sock buns at ihop last night. Definitely worth the wait.

More basketball and ice hockey games. We've been going to a lot of sporting events lately in case you couldn't tell...

Driving around with these two crazy kids.

Taking mid-terms and feeling very happy about one of them :)

Talking Sunday afternoon walks around the temple.

Now I just gotta do some cleaning and homework then it's off to California for a nice long weekend!
Have a happy hump day!
