Ivy Van Dusen

Ever since I was a little girl I DREAMED of my wedding, especially my wedding dress (what girl doesn't?) When I was engaged I went with a bunch of my favorite ladies over to Wedding Belles in Gilbert to find my dress. We fell head-over-heels in love with a beautiful, lacy mermaid gown and spent a lot of time (and $$) getting it altered and made perfect for my wedding day! I loved my wedding and wearing my dress but I can't help but feel like it all happened too fast. One day isn't long enough to enjoy the dress of your dreams!! I stumbled on an amazing website called MyDreamlines.com. They have a bunch of SUPER talented artists that will sketch a beautiful, quality, detailed drawing of your wedding dress to have forever.

I literally almost cried when I first opened the package from them. I am absolutely obsessed with my drawing and plan to keep it hanging up in my closet forever so I can always be reminded of that day :)

I was super impressed with their customer service (super quick e-mail responses), the packaging of the drawing (it was completely safe in their thick, protective envelope) and especially with the turnaround time. I submitted a few different photos of the dress (different angles of it so the artist would know how it fit on me) and I got the sketch back within a week. It was a wonderful experience all the way around.

If you're looking for a wedding gift for someone you love or just want to get one for yourself, check them out! Their website will walk you through the entire process and give you a bunch of different pricing options.

Hi my little Jack Jack!

You are almost 20-months old and you are the most energetic, independent, happiest little toddler there ever was. You love eating all kinds of snacks (especially olives, popcorn, sandwiches, and juice). You fold your arms when its time to say prayers and you even say "amen!" at the end sometimes. You get super excited when we are dropping daddy off at school and you see a train. You know and recognize the ABC's and you almost have your counting all the way down to 20! You are such a smart boy. I know every parent thinks that but you really, really are. I can't even believe half of the things you do. I feel like you act so much older than you are and sometimes that makes me sad because I know you aren't a little baby anymore but most of the time it makes me happy because I just love to see how you are! You are so good at understanding and picking up on things and I can't help but feel like that is part of your innate personality and eternal spirit. I know for a fact that as you get bigger it will be me who ends up learning things from you and I am so excited.

Yesterday I got mad (because you kept throwing your cups and cars) and I snapped at you and felt horrible about it for the rest of the day. I hate getting angry at you and I feel so guilty when I do. I hope that when you see mommy is frustrated or getting you in trouble you are still able to see how much she loves, loves, loves you. I know that in the future you will probably do a lot more naughty things and I will need to get you in trouble a lot more times as you get older and I am trying to figure out how to do it right. I want to be kind, patient and loving towards you but I also know that I need to teach you right from wrong. Figuring out how to find the fine line between both of those is tricky!  I do NOT want to let you do bad things because I want you to be safe and happy. This world will tell you that it is okay to do bad things and it scares me to know that I will have to send you into that world one day. I want to do my absolute best to prepare you for that. I know that you are going to be an amazing, inspiring, helpful, kind, smart, righteous, courageous, big man someday. With every fiber of my being I know that Heavenly Father made me your mother and wants me to tech you how to be good and how to live a happy life and as long as I live me and daddy will work as hard as we possibly can to do that for you.

I love you baby boy!!!!!

As Valentine's Day (one of my favorite holidays) gets closer, I thought it'd be fun to do a little post talking about a makeup look I did the other day using products from Rejuva Minerals. I feel like this whole look (especially the blush and the lipstick) would be PERFECT for a Valentine's night out.

I had never heard of Rejuva Minerals before trying out one of their Beautiful Face Kits, but I am so glad I did! I have tried soooo many makeup brands over the years and this was the first safe-made, sensitive, EWG Verified line I have ever tried. This makeup is free from Behavioral toxins, Carcinogens, Developmental toxins, Endocrine disruptors, Fire retardants, Heavy metals, Neurotoxins, High-risk pesticides, Reproductive toxins, Toxic solvents and Harmful VOCs (whew!)! It feels so much lighter than my usual makeup and just goes on so....soft if that makes sense!

I tried out their pressed powder, pressed cheek powder, a few different loose powders (amazing for setting the under-eye area) and lipstick. I am obsessed with how smoothly the lipstick went on and how LONG it stayed on without looking dry or cakey. It is seriously the perfect every-day lipstick and I have been using it every day since I first tried it on! DEFINITELY recommend that stuff.

i spy a cute little baby!

I used a good, hydrating moisturizer and then I put the foundation on with a simple, dry foundation brush. It was super easy to build up to create a more fuller-coverage-look. Next, I grabbed a slightly damp makeup sponge and lightly dipped into the translucent setting powder to conceal/set around the under-eye area. Then added some blush (loved the Acai Berry shade) and then the lipstick! Then I did my usual eyeliner/mascara routine and that was it! Super simple, quick makeup routine perfect for a nice little night out.

If you have any kind of sensitive skin or if you just want to mix up your makeup routine and try out something a little less chemical-y and a little more natural, check out Rejuva Minerals for yourself. Use code IVYLAUREN at checkout for 20% off your entire purchase site-wide (or check out Dealspotr for more updated codes).
