Ivy Van Dusen

Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed/planned out my entire wedding.
How it would look, what I would look like, etc.
Now the time to plan it is finally here, and it is a blast.
I am going absolutely crazy because there is so much to do, but I am loving every second of it!

Along with wedding stuff, there is still a lot more going on! I am living up the time I have left of living with girlfriends and threw a little Halloween party with my cute roommates.
I pulled the classic last minute "what the heck am I going to be for Halloween?" like I do every year, ran into the bathroom, grabbed a makeup pencil and like 90% of the female population, was a cat. We ate lots of treats and listened to music and created a fun place for some mingling. I have decided that I really love throwing parties and want to do more!

Along with fall comes nice weather which actually helps me be a little bit more okay with running.
Also I love my cute Nikes.
Is it just me or does cute workout clothes motivate you more than anything to work out? :)

A year ago last Friday was when I met Kody! To celebrate we went to Outback and he got me a rose.
Getting flowers is one of my absolute favorite things in this world.
Time has totally flown right on by. The past 365 days have been the best in my entire life, and I am not sure exactly what I did before that. SO happy to get to spend forever with my sweet, funny, hunk of a man.

We drove up the Alpine Loop last week (if you live in Utah, you definitely need to do it. It is such a pretty, perfect Sunday drive. Especially when the leaves are all changing). We took a walk on a mountain trail and Kody brought Mountain trail mix. How cute.

The invitations are almost done! hallelujah! After looking at all kinds of patterns and things, I decided to just make them myself. I wanted to go for a kind of simple, yet elegant look. I know, I am already doing way too much DIY-ing and should probably just let other people do some things when it comes to my wedding, but I am happy with how they turned out :) This along with a cute picture and wa-la!

Last night we went to the place of dreams (aka Target) and scanned things for hours and hours for our wedding registry! Seriously one of the most fun things I have done with this whole wedding thing. And I know that Kody had the time of his life too.
Me: Hey what color scheme should we do for our bedroom? Do you like pastel colors? Or deep ones? How do you feel about Mauve? Would that look good?
K: Okay, in case you haven't noticed, I am a guy.
Oh boy. I love him despite his lack of knowledge/empathy regarding interior design.

The past few days proved to be another super fun general conference weekend! It was super busy but full of great messages, awesome people, and YUMMY food.

On Friday I had a classy little scholarship banquet. It was so fun to meet all kinds of wonderful people including this awesome guy ^ who helped sponsor my scholarship this year. I am so happy to attend such a wonderful university.

Then that night was the BYU vs. Utah Stae football game.
It was a sad loss BUT how can you be sad when you get super hot, free sunglasses?!

After the guys went to Priesthood session, Kody and I met up with my grandparents who were visiting Salt Lake, and we ate at the fancy Rooftop restaurant where we all ate way too much, but didn't feel bad one little bit.

Today was spent on the couch in my pj's with this funny guy right next to me, listening to uplifting talks spoken by the leaders of our church.
Richard G. Scotts talk, especially, made me melt.
This gospel truly is life changing, and if anyone could use a little pick-me-up, should check out these sweet, 10-minute words of comfort and encouragement.

Overall, it was a great weekend and I really really am not ready for it to be Monday.

1. When Kody decides to wear my glasses and make all sorts of interesting faces. I love that face so much I just want to squeeze it every time I see it.
2. How great it feels to be all done with work for the rest of the week! SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW YOU GUYS.
3. When people you don't know super well stop you at school and tell you they read your blog. What?! People actually read this thing?? I feel proud.
4. Dr.Pepper. Everything in it. Everything about it. Always and forever. Also I love people who share my obsessive love for it. They are the greatest humans I know.
5. The fact that general conference is this weekend! Oh hey. I love being able to listen to the prophet AND wear my pajamas at the same time. #doublewin
6. Getting sweet texts from your dad who is 700 miles away, and is the busiest man in the world, but somehow still manages to ALWAYS find a way to make you feel so good :)
7. Fall clothes. Even though it's chilly around here, it means that it is prime time for perfect long-sleeve, soft, cozy, cute outfits. It is a great, great thing to not have to worry about your legs being too white. You know you love it too.
8. Fall smells. (Bath and Body works. Go there now.)
9. Everything about fall, really.
10. Getting to call the temple and reserve a date to get married. It is a great feeling when you are finally able to do something that you have worked your entire life for.

Hurray for days where you feel so happy that you do a little happy dance when you're alone in the elevator.
:)
